Ringing in 2012

What a year it has been for myself.. As you all know I have been sick since May and still struggle daily with being sick and trying to figure out how to have some sort of "Normal" in my life! But I am also SO Blessed!!! I have such a wonderful Family and 2 of the most Beautiful Girls! I just love them to pieces! We had so much fun as we rang in the New Year...playing games (Connect 4 Launcher is a new Favorite)...eating Meatballs, wings, chips and salsa, Shrimp and Olives! We Skyped with the Aunts and Uncles which was a lot of Fun !! Greg and I even made it to the Ball drop which hasn't happened in Years! I am so Thankful for everyone in my life and for all the Blessings in my Life.. May 2012 Bring Health and Happiness to All!!

Christmas 2011

Mommy making Christmas Eve Dinner in my cute Apron !! Greg had bought a dinner made at the store , but when I went to pick it up it was all uncooked and I still had to come home and make it all including the ham and rolls , the girls love to eat a big meal and fancy dishes.. So it was a fun night !!

I had way to many Christmas Pictures so I just gave a few of the highlights! Haylee got a Real Baby that looks like a newborn and even smells like one to, with a stroller and all the accesories. Kaitlyn got Monster High dolls which has been a huge hit. Than between the two they got wii games, ds games, and board games .. and yes there are 2 things Santa should never have purchased which are Flufflings and Doggie Doo.. so if you have a reqest for them Just say NO!!!! Christmas is such a Fun time of year and I loved seeing their Smiling Faces as the Opened all their Gifts!!! Until Next Year!!!

A Real Tree

After putting away my artificial tree last year.. I knew that I did not want to get it out again after 12 years it was looking pretty sad! So I convinced my husband that I wanted a Real Tree!!! So when I went to work on Saturday .... and I came home from work I had my Tree .. I wanted!!! The only hesitation was the next morning I saw a news story about people having found snakes in their trees so I was nervous for a few days, but no creatures ever came out!!! YaY! It was beautiful and I am so happy I dont have to put away my tree this year.. just throw it out!!!!

Christian our Elf

We started a new tradition this year and had so much fun with our Elf .. .Christian ! For any that haven't heard of The Elf on the Shelf Book, it is such a cute idea for kids. The elf comes to your house and he watches over the kids and goes to Santa every night and reports on how the kids are behaving!! During his time here.. he made snow angels, opened presents, went fishing , and enjoyed lots of our Christmas Decorations! Haylee absolutly loved Him and is going to miss him as he is away for a whole year .. she has woke up at 4 am or early to find him all month long!!!

Jack the Puppy

So we have talked for awhile about getting another Jack Russell dog, since we already have Russell! Of course my Hubby thought that right in the middle of me being Sick would be a perfect time to get one... So let me introduce Jack the Puppy!!! I was hesitant at first but it is unbelievable to me how Theraputic a puppy can be.. they really can be a humans best friend. Now for some of you that are not animal lovers you may not understand, but this little guy cuddles with me and loves me all the time! He lays with me all the time and when I walk in the house to see how happy he can be it melts me everytime!! Now don't get me wrong we have had a few puppy moments, but overall he has been pretty darn good and him and Russell are really starting to get a long and become buddies which is what I wanted!!! I just hope in a few months that I am saying the same thing since I know it seems to good to be true!! Love you Jack!

First Day of School 2011

Just can't believe its that time again...School started today! Kaitlyn is going into 4th grade and Haylee into 1st...were does the time go? They were sooo excited...woke up at 6 am and were ready to go to early..but I am glad that they Love school and its not a fight!

Since I have been home sick I have found a Love for our Hummingbirds!! They are such cool little birds and so Fun to watch, but they are so fast that it is hard to get a good picture of them!! We have 2 that visit us daily ..we have named them Flutter and Lilly! We act like they are a pet of ours, but really its just cool to see them each day!!

Grandma Cindy in Virginia

A week after Liberty left .. Grandma Cindy arrived!! YAY !! We were so Excited to have her here, it has been 6 years since she has been in VA ! Again we had no big plans when she arrived and since she was here to help me get better that is what she tried to do! She arrived on Saturday Night. Sunday we got ready and we went to church , Yes she got me to go.. Mom won't drive anywhere so she suckered me in to going .. but it wasn't bad at all! Monday the girls went off to summer camp and we hung out at home ( I was starting to feel dehydrated and not so good!) She was great help though cooking and cleaning.. She made my girls Crepes for the first time which may be a weekly meal now .. we made up a list of dinners and went to the store. Tuesday I had a Dr. appt and while there they wanted me to go to the ER for fluids( which took most of the day) I had a allergic reaction to meds and didn't feel much better when I left. Wednesday had another Dr. appt and we had a colonoscopy scheduled for Friday ... Really Mom was trying to get me Better! In between all of this she cleaned my pantry , towel closet, cabinets, cooked , did laundry , oh and we were having a major Heat Wave so even if we wanted to we couldn't go outside! Thurday had to start drinking med for procedure.. which was the WORST and than went to Dr on Friday.. Not sure how much Fun mom was having but Hope she knows how Helpful she was to me .. She had to leave on Monday and I was SAD ... so was Greg he begged her to stay .. but to much was going on at home.. so She had to go!! Thank you Mom for Everything !!!! We miss you Already!!

I am so thankful for great Family!! My sister is the Best .. Since I can not seem to get any better , my sister decided that she needed to come and help me (YAY) She came here on July 2nd and was able to stay for 5 days than she had to wisk off to Utah to pick up her car(long story) I was soo happy to have her here.. We did not have much of anything planned since I can't be far from the bathroom..but we had fun anyways.. The Girls Loved having her here .. French braids, nails painted, swimming, Fireworks, played with Kate(hamster) , played the Wii..she helped me organize and clean the girls rooms and Yes they needed it BAD!!! Thank you!! She took the girls to Church , took the Girls pictures, Took our Family Pictures, wow have I mentioned she is amazing.. I also sent her home with projects to do !! We loved spending Quality time with her and Tanner and wish that they could have stayed longer !! Thanks for Everything and hope I didnt miss anything !! Love you so much and I can never Thank you Enough!!!

Another School year has come and gone!! My Girls are getting soo Big ... Kaitlyn graduated from the 3rd Grade and was on the High Honor Roll every term, Not sure who she gets her smarts from. Haylee graduated from Kindergarten and again another smart cookie .. she was in the GT program in her grade and she got the Highest honor from the Principal..So very proud of my girls and can't wait for school to start.. wait did I say that Out Loud!

Sick , Sick, and Sick

I have debated about blogging about crappy happenings in my life, but I have decided that it may help me remember when its all over how greatful I am for Life!! So it all began about 8 months ago when I was diagnosed with an infection known as C-Diff(normally from hospital or nursing home stay or antibiotics) since I hadn't been in hospital, I figured it must have been from the ear infection I had that was treated with antibiotics. So went to the Dr. and was put on a heavy antibiotic( i know weird) but that is how it is treated. The infection went away.. so I thought! It wasnt until the begininning of May that I started to feel the same symptoms all over again. I waited for about 2 weeks because the symptoms are stomach ache, diaherria, and I just kept thinking it would get better , but unfortunatly it continued to get worse. So I broke down and went to the Dr. and yes again I was put on Antibiotics.. 2 days later I was getting even worse and called the Dr. they wanted to swich my meds to a different antibiotic, which is the last choice before hospitalization and that it is very Expensive. So began taking meds but kept having same symptoms and getting dehydrated and just did not feel well. Went through testing and ended up in the hospital on May 23, they treated me with IV antibiotics along with oral and many other medications, I was there for 6 long days until the Drs thought there was not much more to do... since then I have been on the same Antibiotics and back and forth to many Dr appointments and Lab testing.. but the answer is always stay on medication.. I have been lucky and have short term disability through work and so I have been able to be home which is the only way I have survived what I have! Last week I was able to convince the Dr to do a Colonoscopy to maybe find out some answers , I am currently waiting on Test Results.. they said it could take up to 2 weeks. I am so greatful for great family and friends that have helped me out in this struggle and hope to find answers out soon!

Easter was a fun family day !! The Easter bunny brought .. lots of candy , Yogi Bear the movie, chalk, bubbles, Tea cup piggies, and a rubix cube(kaitlyn has wanted one since seeing justin beiber the movie) .. I made a yummy dinner ham, potatoes, green bean casserole, rolls , jell-o cake! It was a beautiful 85 degree day and we spent time together as family enjoying all of the goodies!

Hamster Headaches

If any of you have followed my Facebook, you will know that we have had a month of headaches with Hamsters!!! We started of with 2 hamsters and within the first few days one of them got out of the cage.. we looked everywhere but could not find it .. so Daddy went and bought a new one ... once we had the new one home we found the Other ..so that makes 3!! Well we seem to have a problem with keeping them in their cages so within another few days 2 got out and unfortunatly our Nice Family Cat thought they were mice .. so we all know the outcome of that! Thats when Daddy comes to the rescue again with another new one .. so Now we are back to 2! We have another break out , but this time both are safe and we think we are all good .. when one becomes sick and passes away.. so long story short ...we have 1 now that has made it through all the drama and this Mean Mom says .... Hamsters are not for us!!!!

Mommy and Girls Weekend

So just a few pictures to recap a very fun and much needed weekend away!! I took the girls away for the weekend and we just "Chilled" .. we ate pizza , watched movies, swam in the pool , enjoyed breakfast buffets, bought munchies, jumped on the bed, wrote our Valentine cards, played store at the desk in the room, went to the mall , got new outfits, went to Build-A-Bear, ate Chinese, jumped on the bed somemore, wore jammies a lot of the time, ran down the hallways at the hotel, loved riding from the 6th floor down, drank hot chocolate(open 24hrs)not a good thing, played on the computers, gave loves, snuggled, and just had an all around Good Time!!

Build -A- Bear

Since Kaitlyn was little, and everytime that we have walked past the store at the mall .. the girls have wanted to make an animal at Build-A-Bear! Well I took this past weekend to make their dreams come true. We went away for a weekend getaway and when we woke up the next morning we got ready and went to the mall! We got to the door and Haylee could hardly control herself.. they ran in and Haylee went straight to a Pink Puppy ..picked it up and said this is what I want her name is "Rosie" I was like ok.. than a few minutes later Kaitlyn picked out the Blue Puppy , I don't know if she felt like she had to match or it was meant to be and she named it "Lilly".. we continued on the journey and got them stuffed and gave them Baths! That was the easy part and than it was time to get them dressed.. WOW!! I never knew that they had sooo much to chose and it took forever .. but we did it !!! It is Priceless to watch my girls grow up and see their expressions and chit chatting between the 2 sisters on what would match with eachother! What a Fun time.. and I am positive we will be back for more clothes, shoes, purses, glasses, oh who knows they have it ALL!

Snow Stinks

This week we got our "First" Snow Storm... I am sure that you all know my feeling about the Snow in Virginia.. well this was No Exception!! The day of the storm the Weather Man was still not sure what we were going to get , cause for us if the storm comes from the south than it could miss us or we could get a lot they never can tell! That morning they had cancelled school(yes they cancel school even for a "Chance" of Snow) so the girls were at the sitter.. I was at work and about 2pm I looked out the window and it was starting to come down in straight ICE .. it looked bad and was coming down hard.. I get a call from Greg who was in the same area and he said I needed to leave than or stay at the hotel it was getting bad out there.. so I decided to leave and went to my truck , only to have a nervous breakdown(yes I have anxiety about Driving) and so I said I can't do this and went back into work! Within an hour it was getting sooo bad outside and I was glad I had stayed and that I was safe and Greg was home with the girls. After a few hours we were watching the news and there were people stuck in hours and hours of traffic , accidents, power outages, it was terrible. They blame it on the ice that we had at first and that everyone left early to beat the strom but back fired cause there was just too much Traffic! So after working a 14.5 hr day and feeling exhausted, I went to bed! Than to wake up the next morning and hear the Stories.. it had taken people 8hrs to drive there 1 hr commute, people had left their cars on the highway , ran out of gas, thousands were out of power, it was sooo busy for us !! So officially I can say that I hate Snow... but after all of that .. My Girls make me smile when I see their happy Faces and see them Enjoying their many, many, many Snow Days! Believe me I am sure this is not the End of Snow for us !

The Bread Machine

For weeks I heard Liberty say all the Yummy things she was making in her Bread Machine and I was jealous they all sounded so good! So after the holidays were over and I had some Money from my gifts I decided to purchase my own... Best Decision Ever!! I love it!!!! It is so fun and so far everything that we have tried has been so Tasty!!! First we tried a white bread, than got a little adventurous and made Cinnamon Raisin , Homemade Pizza Dough , and Dinner Rolls! I am so glad that I bought this new toy and I know that I will use it so much!!! Yummo

Haylee's Play

My Sweet Haylee.. I just love this girl! She has been so excited for mommy and daddy to come to school to see her Martin Luther King Play! All week the weather man has been saying that we would get snow thursday night into friday, which as all of you know even an inch of snow would cancel school around here! Haylee was soooo sad last night that it just might be cancelled! But when we woke up in the morning ..what do you know? It missed us! We got nothing! and School was on and ontime!! Wahoo! So the Play would go on .. it was so cute!! Each student had a part to say and than they sang a song.. It wasn't very long ..but it was so Precious! She did so good on her part and spoke right into the microphone!! Like I said I just Love that Girl..so Cute!

RollerSkating

The girls have been begging to go to the skating rink ...and when the washing machine broke on Saturday (that is laundry day).. I took them up on it and said lets Go!!! I think you always forget how fun it really is .. takes me back to my childhood at Classic Skating! It was a ton of fun and I am soo impressed with how good Kaitlyn is she never fell not even once... (she does go during summer camp) but still she is a pro! We enjoyed all the classic songs like the hokey pokey, YMCA, the limbo and even the Macarana! Of course we had to hit up the snack bar .. complete with pizza, popcorn, and soda! What a fun way to spend an Afternoon!

This year didn't really have much planned for New Years.. which was a good thing.. Haylee has been sick all week with a upper respitory infection (is on steriods..which is never Fun) and Greg had to work! So I told the girls that we would just have a quite night at home.. I bought them Martinellis .. (a favorite) and we played games.. Slam Scrabble , Headbands, Ants in my Pants, and Powerland! I made some yummy 7 layer Dip and Meatballs and rice! We played and ate and were all in bed by around 10 or so! Happy New Year to you all! May you all be Blessed in the New Year!

Christmas 2010

Christmas is such a wonderful time of year! It can be soo stressful but when the day is here we all seem to forget that and Enjoy the time with Family! This year we had Christmas Eve just our little family .. and than we had the get together with Gregs family on Christmas Day! I love seeing my girls open up all their gifts and get so excited for what they recieved! Some of the memorable gifts are.. Pillow Pets, Paper Jam Guitars, Wii Games (karoake and Drawing Pad), just to name a few there are many more that are Favorites! Thank you all for making this Christmas Memorable with the Cards, gifts, and Love that was felt throughout this time of Year! Wether we are close or far away we are all Family and Grateful for Everyone of you!

GingerBread Houses 2010 Edition

We made a decision last year that we would have an annual Gingerbread Contest.. so this year I went and bought 2 kits and we were ready to go .. not sure if it was the anticipation or the chaos.. but Neither House worked good this year .. Haylees started to break and so Greg added a top swinging door (like a Trailor Park ) oopps did I say that! And Kaitlyn had hers all together when all of a sudden it fell apart and she was devistated! So here you have it .. The work in progress!!!!

Cookie Craziness

I had a bunch of recipes I wanted to try or make again since last year.. and sooo Haylee and I got Cookie Crazy!!! We went to town making Hershey Kiss Cookies, Gingerbread, and my Favorite White Chocolate and Cranberry Cookies! We had fun making them all .. I had to take half of them to work though.. cause I knew that I would Eat them all!!! Haylee Loved that I would let her cut out the Shapes of the Gingerbread and we kept some for Santa.. which made her happy! and of course Santa .. Loved.. Them ! I love cookies and making new recipes !! Just wish I could eat them all with No.....Guilt!

Santa's Visit!

This year the girls school had a visit from Santa! It worked out perfect for us!! We showed up at the school and stood in line for 10 minutes and saw Santa!! Yippee!! So Haylee was soo excited she ran right up on his lap and said I want a Dolphin Pillow Pet.. and than there was Kaitlyn who wasnt to sure but since none of her friends were there she wasnt to cool to sit on his lap, so she did it! She asked him for DS games which was news to Mommy(lets see if that happens)! After that they had Apple Cider and Hot Chocolate .. I think we were there for 25 minutes it was Perfect!! Ho Ho Ho!!!

Fall Ball 2010

Kaitlyn's first season of Softball was a Success! She really enjoyed it so much and I was so proud of her and getting out there every game and playing as a Team! She did very well which also was impressive since I have No athletic ability at all! As a parent it makes you so proud when you see them out there and they are Truly enjoying themselves!! I hope that she will continue to enjoy it as we just signed up for Spring Ball!

Sister's Day at the Park!

So one fall evening Greg decided to take the girls over to Crockett Park on a walk .. He was good and took the Camera .. I was excited when he came back with over 100 pics and sooo many good ones..These are only a few of them! I love the way that they turned out and actually used some for Our Christmas Card this year! I love that even though they have there arguments that my 2 girls are so Close and Lean on eachother! As their mom I hope that it last through the teenage years, but for now I will take what I can get! Love these Girls and am soooo Thankful for them Everyday!

As many of you may know that when I worked at Shepdherds .. we also made Chocolates, but since I have moved to Virginia we don't do it much at all..So when my hubby came home with a Choclate Lollipop Set I though it was funny.. It has been sitting in the cupboard for a couple weeks.. but today I said lets make Chocolate..the girls loved it .. and I hope that someone eats it all cause it really is my least favorite thing to make!!! They had such a good time .. I even found a mold of a glove, bat , and ball so I think they may want to make these over and over again..for that softball player in her!! Fun times .. I told them to pick some school friends to give them too .. I don't want them all !!!

Brag Boards

I had a great Idea ..that I have seen on many blogs.. it was a Sheet Metal Board that held their kids art work from the school day ..well mine did not work out exactly like "I" wanted.. but my kids love them .. Greg called me one day and said his dad had sheet metal for free... I like free so I said yes, what I didn't know was it had to be painted cause it was scrapes.. uggghh.. and if I was to paint them it would be black or silver.. but no my hubby did them Blue.. Ok I will be fine with blue!!!! So I went with it ... I still made some adorable magnets out of stones and pictures from all different times in the girls lives.. which they love so much .. I have a handful of pics to still make.. So here we have Brag Boards !!! I love it !! I made a new rule that whatever fits can go on it .. if not it is Trash .. hope it works!!!!

Disney on Ice .. Toy Story 3

I have a good friend at work that has a great hook up with shows.. as you all remember the wonderful Curious George.. hahah I was so happy that I was going to be able to redeem myself with Disney on Ice.. I knew it was supposed to be a Great show.. but it was Incredible!!!! It was SO much fun .. the things that they can do on Ice is just amazing.. and the characters... I loved the Pig, Slinky the Dog, Mr. and Mrs. Potatoe Head .. all of them were so Life like and were so much like the Movie!!! The girls had so much fun with their snowcones, popcorn, pretzels, coloring book, boomerang.. yes it cost a fortune.. but things like this Make you so Happy to be a parent when you see the Smiles on their Faces!!! We had over 300 pictures by the end .. so here is just a few.. Anyone with small children should see Disney on Ice it is Amazing!!!!

School Globe Project

At back to school night Kaitlyns teacher told us that the first major school project was coming up soon.. It was the Globe of the world with all 7 continents and 5 oceans. Kaitlyn was obsessed with it being a blue beach ball .. ok first problem ..do you know how hard it is to find a beach ball in October??? But, somehow it happened and I found it after checking at too many stores to count! She than wanted a stand , so with the help of her daddy that turned out just like she wanted it !! She got 100% and was one Happy Girl!

We were given tickets to go to "Curious George Live" the girls were very excited....as many of you may know Kaitlyn has always liked Monkeys and so I thought that it would be exciting for her especially! We got there and it was like any other show and they had very expensive soveniors and treats ..which of course the girls both wanted...which we kept telling them after the show... hehehe a parents trick! So they show started and all I can say is "Cheesy" for the most part I think that the girls did enjoy it , but for Greg and I we are just very Thankful that we Did Not pay for the Tickets..or buy a suvenior!!! Maybe next Show!

All Grown Up

I can't believe that the day has arrived..No more babies .. No more sitter.. No more Naps.. were did the time go?? I didn't think that it would effect me so much, but as I watched my little Haylee get on the bus with a big grin and wave back at me with No Fear at All.. I realized it is a new chapter in our lives and there is No turning back! I love these girls sooo much and all these moments are so special to me! I hope that this is a great school year with lots of fun, friends, and of course a little Fashion!!

Jeffs Birthday

With Jeff being here for the Summer , we knew that he would be away from his family on his birthday. So we wanted to make it special for him, unfortunatly it was a work day and that means he doesnt get home until 7:30-8pm ..but that gave us plenty of time to get decorations and all up and Ready!!! The girls were so excited! When he got home we had dinner, cake and presents!!! Happy 26th Birthday Jeff!! We are so glad we got to spend it with you !!

Kaitlyn recieved 3 dresses , an art bag , shoes , coloring supplies, battleship(thats what she asked for), a bracelet, money! We let the girls choose between a Party and Kings Dominion.. and here you have it Kings Dominion was the winner.. and once again it was a Success!!! This year it was packed but at the same time it was wonderful weather for an amusement park .. it was 85 or so and overcast.. Perfect! Jeff got to come with us which I think he enjoyed himself.. I think the only downer was the lines were always long! The girls enjoyed themselves and got to do Everything they wanted to .. of course it was their Birthday!!!!!

How does time fly by so fast? I remember my Haylee as a baby and now she seems like such a big Girl as she is getting ready to take the next step and move on to Kindergarten... Now don't get me wrong I have been excited for this for a long time .. I think it is the amount of money I pay with daycare and preschool .. that makes me even more Excited~ But to be honest I had tears in my eyes as I watched her walk to get her diploma , and as I watched how much she has Grown !!! Mother's Day Tea Party

One of the first things that we were told when Haylee started school this year was to make sure to take May 6th of for Mothers Day Tea Party !! The kids pust in so much time preparing for this special day... When we arrived at school the children are responsible for Everything. They walked us into the lunch..pulled out our chair... the teacher announced that we were not allowed to do anything, that the children would bring our lunch to us .. if we wanted seconds than they would get it for us! It was to cute! They had a program with songs and they did a Play of " Are you my Mother?" We all got to participate when they did the Chicken Dance! We had pasta salad, fruit salad, and cookies to eat all made by the Kids! They had made us placemats and wrote things about there moms ...it was very cute! They also made us Jewelry Holders(the green thing in the pictures) It was very cute and special so glad I took the day OFF!

Never go on Vacation without preparing before hand! This is what we learned this year the hard way .... Easter Backet shopping at the last minute and at the only store with the girls hiding from me ...cost Way to much money!! I was soooo upset that I spent $70 on candy ...yes that is right .. oh and the baskets.. hahah Greg saved the day by going out and Getting Alvin and the Chipmunks ..so turned out Great after all.. The girls have watched the movie so many times they have it memorized .. so it makes it All worth it!!

As we were planning our trip...as a mom I was feeling a little guilty.. I Always take my girls to an Easter Egg Hunt...Always see the Easter Bunny...but going to the beach I though that we would miss ALL of that .. but boy was I wrong! The first day we were there Greg brought home a flyer for an Easter Celebration at the Beach .... Yipee! I think I was more excited for it than the Girls! In the End though they Loved it .. they had sooooo much to do .. Crafts...Easter Egg Hunt... Juggler( which Haylee Loved .. she laughed sooo hard)...Face Painting... Candy .. It was such a success .... Thank you Sea Colony for putting on such a Great Event for Families away from home!!!

While we are at the Beach we always try to be smart about when to go out to eat. With a family of 4 it is expensive, we usually go to the store and by food to make at the house and only eat out once or twice! I know it has been way to long since I have posted but not much has happened FUN in the last little bit! So we decided to change that and since the girls were off School for an entire week for Spring Break and just so happened it was Easter Weekend we made a little mini vacation to the Beach! It started out just how I remember Vacations when I was a kid.. we waited ..and waited for Greg to get all the loose ends finished up before we could leave and we pulled out of the driveway at 11pm ..yep that sounds like my Dad! We started on our way and hit major traffic ..so we arrived at 4am ...yipee! But we were there and all I could think of was my bed. The next morning we realized that we had no hot water , so we waited all day for the repair man ... yep still reminds me off our trips as kids.. but for the most part after we got hot Showers ... we had a really good time, quality family time!

Today I realized how much I love my Valentines? We woke up in the morning and the girls had baskets with goodies ...candy, bubble bath , gymnastic leotards(a favorite..pictures to come)! Mommy got some chocolates and Tulips ..thanks babe! We had planned to go out to dinner at Osaka Japanese Steakhouse.. The girls were so excited and wanted to get all dressed up..which is when I realized how big My girls are getting .. Kaitlyn had to curl her hair, put jewelry on, and makeup...wait she is 7!! It was a lot of fun .. the Girls loved the food and watching them cook in front of us was a hit! After dinner we took them to get icecream at Coldstone...which was another hit! I love my family so much and am so Thankful for the moments that we share together making wonderful memories.. Happy Valentines Day !!

The girls have really enjoyed the Snow ... I know that I have mentioned that I do not like the Snow so you will Never see me in the Snow Pictures..sorry ! We have had our share of SNOW this year!! Who would have thought that I would be posting more BLIZZARD pictures!! Well here you go .. the Blizzard of 2010 is here.. We have had snow since yesterday morning at 10 am and it is now Saturday at 7:00pm and it had finally stopped .. Grand total of snow for this snow is 26 inches of SNOW!!! Two girls that are soooo exited to go to the movies! This was Haylee's first movie, so we were interested to see how she would do. She is very active and hasn't sat through a movie at home so we didn't know how she would do in the theatre!

When we got to the theatre the girls were so excited to see that they had these statues and couldn't wait to get their pictures taken!

I don't know if I can believe that a whole year has gone by again...I still remember when it was going to be the year 2000 and everyone was going crazy about the computers and if they would work or if they would all crash... Now 10 years later so much has changed in Our lives! I never imagined to have such a wonderful life, be a mother of 2 of the most beautiful, fun , loving girls... They are my world and what I live for, they bring such joy to my life! To have a wonderful , Amazing husband that I love and adore so much . To be a wife and a mother has brought such joy to me and in the next 10 years I can only imagine all the wonderful moments that we will have as a family! Memories are what I want to make for the girls to remember and be able to share with their families! For any of you who have not experienced Winter in Virginia... Believe me you never want to! So when the weather men start predicting a storm we all look at eachother and say ..Yay right! But this weekend they were right on! We got a BLIZZARD ! It came in on Friday night and snowed all day on Saturday to make our total 21.5 inches ! It is a mess.. Fun for a few minutes but when it comes to life ...people do not deal with snow well on the East Coast! I guess it is a good thing that the girls are out of school for the holidays because this would have cancelled school for a week ! One fun fact though is we have not had a "White Christmas" for twenty years and this is here to stay for awhile! YIPEE!!

So many of you know that this years Thanksgiving was not what we had planned. It all started about a week before Thanksgiving when Haylee started not feeling well and had a high fever. I was MOD for the weekend and so Greg took her into the clinic to find out she had Strep throat ..started her on antibiotics and thought she would just get better, but not my children of course , she got worse! So back to the doctor we went when her fever peaked to 104.7 ! Wouldnt you know she had Pnemonia, pretty bad by this time, so yet again another antibiotics and treatments round the clock. Well while all this is happening Kaitlyn started not feeling well , so yep we started her on antibiotics.... So as you may have guessed by now we had to cancel our plans for Thanksgiving dinner. But Thankfully Gregs mom was gracious enough to let us come and get it in to go containers.. So there you have it Our Dinner out of tupperware!!! Thanks Mama! Also I just need to add how thankful I am for modern medicine and for the Drs that dont always get it right the first time but always in the end my children feel better!

Highlights of Halloween

Kaitlyn was obsessed with being a Red Devil! (Thank you walmart for having it in stock)
Haylee went from being a kitty to Spiderwoman , I think it fits her though!
Kaitlyn broke out in poision ivy all over her face which she has to put medicine on so the face paint is really not part of the whole costume!
We found a new neighborhood with a lot of houses , which was great we were done in a little over an hour!
It rained, and rained, but didnt bother the girls (side not: Red spray paint and rain dont mix!)

We had so much fun with pumpkins this year! First , was the Cows and Corn , which included a hay ride, corn maze ( which Greg and Haylee found the special pumpkin which we got a free pumkin), butter making and lots of fun! Next, Greg took the girls to the beach and on the way home they stopped at a pumpkin patch were they found "Toby" the giant pumpkin! Last, was the carving of the pumpkins which is not mommys favorite so since I had to work yesterday they were able to have all the Fun with Daddy !

Well lets start at the beggining.. We promised Gregs dad that we would go to the beach house and close it up for the season ..so for weeks Greg keeps saying lets go to the beach ... I end up having to work .. so last weekend we said ..."lets go to the beach" all was good until about Wednesday when we had some problems at work and I was going to have to work all weekend...so Greg took the Girls by Himself....which Yes I was impressed but I know he loves to be with the Girls... although this is what I get in return ... 2 Hermit Crabs .. Peace and Kate.. I was told it is because the girls were sooooo good..is that true or is daddy a softy???? ....umm we shall see the older they get!

It was time for a Haircut and we decided that we were going to cut it all off... Which I am so glad that we did. One thing that I realized is Haylee looks really good with short hair!!! I wish that I could get a good picture of the whole thing , it actually goes shorter in the back to an A line in the front.. One of the things that we love about were we live right now is that our next door neighbor is a State Park! We can walk there anytime we want and especially when it get to be "Fall" it is my favorite thing to take the girls up to the park for an hour or so anytime we need something to do! First Day of School Fashion Show

Today is the First Day of School for my Kaitlyn. I can't believe that she is starting the 2nd grade it just blows me away. Now in years past she has dreaded the first day of school and gave me her attitude all morning, but this year was different she has been excited since we went school shopping. After we shopped she had to put on a "Fashion Show"! Then this morning she was up at 6 am , actually she was up about every 2 hrs all night! She immediatly got dressed and all ready by 7 am.. the bus doesnt come till 8. At least we werent going to be late! She was still excited at the bus stop and actually posed for a picture, unlike last year...Haylee was a little to excited to, unfortunaly her preschool doesnt start till Sept.8th, but we let her pack her lunch and take her backpack to the sitter so she felt special! I am so Thankful for my girls and cant believe they are getting so big..so fast .. such a great time in our life watching them Grow Up!!!

The National Zoo!!

I decided because I was OFF for a couple Days that I would be a Mom for a day and take my Girls to the National Zoo in DC!!! So started off Ok although I hate driving in DC , but with the GPS on my phone we made it there! Than we found all the cool animals ...the girls loved the Elephants, Zebras, and the Gorillas ...we searched for the Giraffes ..until we asked someone and they told use they had moved them to Florida because they are redoing their cage..bummer! Everything seemed to be a hit..although it was 90 some degrees with 100 something percent humidity ..I was dying pulling the wagon with Haylee in it..Sorry I wasnt about to post a picture of that!! So at the End about 10 Minutes on the road was a major thunderstorm and traffic which made our ride 2 hrs long.......this is why it will be 4 more years before we go back!!!!

So we had planned the trip to leave Kings Dominion and stay at a Marriott with my great discount! We don't do it that often so the girls loved the hotel and thought that it was so cool! We had breakfast and played in the pool .. loved it , besides a little mishap at the pool , but mommy doesnt like to talk about that! Then we were off to the One place Kaitlyn had to go on her Birthday ...The Bass Pro Shop ...we had a great time and a great ending to a Wonderful Birthday Weekend, you can see from the pictures they were worn out!!!! Kings Dominion

We gave the girls a choice this year to either have a party or go to Kings Dominion! After much thought they decided Kings Dominion. So we woke up early the morning of Haylees Birthday and headed to the park. It was a very hot day and you forget how tiring it is , but we had tons of fun. You can see from the pictures that they loved all the characters that they saw, we normally have seen 1 or 2, but this time we saw a lot and they were so excited everytime!!! I know the girls had a great birthday spending time as a Family!!!

So the night before we went away for the Girls Birthday we decided to have a little party to let them open up their presents!! They had a great time and got everything they wanted! Some of the highlights : Kaitlyn wanted a guitar sooo bad. Which we happened to find Hannah Montana which made it that much better ! Haylee of course wanted a Baby which yes we broke down and bought another baby to add to her collection of .....umm I lost count!!! They both got some clothes and other small things . Then a box from Grandma and Aunt Libby was a favorite .. the Cutest Monkey Blankets Ever .. They love Them ! Oh and Grandma also sent Tinker Bell Bracelets that you make on your own (stainedglass) , this will be a post on another day ! But we did make them and they Loved Them also !!!! Hot Air Balloon Suprise

We were sitting inside when we looked out the window and saw a Hot Air Balloon , this is something we have seen in the past and the girls always want it to land in the yard. So with a lot of screaming we saw that it was coming down to the ground and yes we kept yelling for them to come in our yard! When they got close enough the driver of the balloon said "Can I land here?" YES!! So they landed and got the balloon secured.. Which was HUGE!! Then he said would you girls like to take a ride, they loved it he only took them up about 10 feet, it was good for them! Then they deflated it which was also cool! The driver asked if he could use our land in the future...so we will see may be more ballooning soon!!!!!

The Family Rocket

One day Greg came home with a surprise a "Rocket" he was so excited ...It was a inflatable rocket that shots up to 100 feet in the air ! We got it all ready and then started to try to get it to launch ... I dont think he read that you have to manuelly pump it to ignite it ! Well it was a little harder than expected but once we worked our "Arm muscles" and figured out a few kinks.. it was hours of fun!!! Towards the end though Greg had an idea to hook up the air compressor which worked a lot better than our arms..hahah Oh yes one other highlight. The Rocket landed in the woods and Kaitlyn looked right at Daddy and said " Dont go into there cause you will get poison ivy!" Well he went in and Yes he got Poison Oak all Over! It was a nightmare...wish I had some pictures but your better off not to see it! So Fun!!!

The 4th of July

This year for the 4th of July we were able to take a mini vacation to Lake Anna! It has become one of our favorite spots to go. We stayed the whole weekend in a little motel that I was a little scared of what we would find in the room at first , but then I just had to remember it was a lot like camping! We had a great time! The one thing that we would not recommend is the Fireworks ...we went on ride to the end of the lake to see the show , but by the time it was over it was so dark you couldnt see were we were going , which is a little scary in a boat on a lake you are not familiar with! Other than that it was an Awesome Weekend!

We live in an area were there is a lot of pesky animals that will eat all my vegtables, so for the past 2 years I have planted everything in pots which I keep on our deck! Last year everything did very well so I am hoping for the same results this year! We tried a few different things...some squash , herbs, and more variety of peppers ..so I guess we will see!

So last year we went to the circus for Greg's birthday, we had such a good time that we decided as a family that we were going to go every year. About 4 months ago, I got the email and bought the ticket...we have been waiting ever since... the day finally came, the girls were so excited....it was so fun...we had a great time as you can see in our pictures....or maybe you can't see because I took 145 pictures, I must take after my sister. We had awesome seats and this will definitely be a new family tradition.

Easter came way to fast for me this year, probably because of the two weeks before - going to the beach and all the family sickness - but it all turned out really nice. The girls really enjoyed coloring the eggs, and yes we had a lot of color for our 12 little eggs. They also loved the little scavenger hunt that the Easter Bunny left for them, they found their baskets with goodies and lots of cute little flowers. The Beach ~ April 2009

So as many of you know Gregs Parents have a beach house about 3 hrs from our house. So if we ever need to get away it is a place that we go and enjoy quality family time! This year Kaitlyns Spring Break was 13 days long and so I thought that it may be a perfect oppurtunity to go to the Beach. For some reason good ideas always come with a price....The week before we were supposed to leave Haylee had a bad cough 104 temp , Greg took her to the Dr. were they said it was bad croup and sent him home..2 days later she was just as bad so I took her back to the Dr. then they decided she had bronchitus, the start of pnemonia, and most likely strep...this was the day before the Trip...! We decided to still go cause she now had medicine. We get to the Beach and the next day Kaitlyn starts with a fever... thankfully hers broke and never much else..weather wasnt great and a day or so into the trip ...I started to feel sick ! But after all is said and done we enjoyed some much needed relaxing and just Spending Time with the Family!!!

So we had some nice spring weather last weekend.. beautiful 70s and then it all went down hill .. we had Snow on Friday the 13th maybe it is because of the date ..cause it was a nightmare for me, but I did snap a few pictures when it was nice so I could remeber it!!! Hope it returns soon!!!

So we had a fun night with some Friends of ours Audra and Edgar ... The girls love to play with the kids Mauricio and Elaina .. Here are some cute pictures of the night!! We had a great time and ate good food... We had Fajita meat , Rice , Ranch Bacon Salad, and Salsa and Chips...Yummo!!!! It was a beautiful night...with wonderful Spring weather!!
